One team, not a chain of subcontractors

The reason projects fall apart is almost never the design or the build. It is the seam between them.

So we do not run a drawing office that hands work to strangers. Architects, technologists, planning staff and site managers sit in the same practice, work on the same jobs, and are answerable to the same client. When a detail turns out to be awkward on site, the person who drew it takes the call.

Who does what

Chartered architects lead the design, make the judgement calls on what a council will accept, and argue the case when an officer is minded to refuse.

Architectural technologists turn the design into something buildable — the construction details, the specification, the thermal and fire performance.

Planning staff handle validation lists, submissions, consultation responses and the relentless chasing that keeps an application moving.

Structural coordinators make sure the engineer's calculations and the architectural drawings describe the same building.

Project and site managers run the build: programme, trades, inspections, and the weekly report that tells you where it actually is.

Regulation

In the UK the title "architect" is protected by law under the Architects Act 1997, and only individuals registered with the Architects Registration Board may use it. We are ARB-registered under number 089302A and hold RIBA Chartered Membership. Both are publicly verifiable — ARB registration on the register at arb.org.uk, RIBA membership through the Institute.

The practice carries professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance appropriate to the scale of work we take on, and we are happy to provide registration details and certificates on request.
